Disney fans have always been able to enjoy their favorite characters and stories in both the movies and on television. But what about the world of Disneyverse? This is a separate, but related, universe that exists outside of the movies and television shows. It’s a place where characters from all over the Walt Disney Company’s empire can be found. Here are five of our favorite Disneyverse characters:
- Mickey Mouse: Mickey Mouse is one of the most popular Disney Characters and has been around since 1928. He has appeared in more than 1,000 movies and TV shows. He is known for his big ears, funny character voice, and catchy songs.
- Donald Duck: Donald Duck is one of the most popular Disney Characters because he is so relatable. He has appeared in more than 50 movies and TV shows since 1959. He is known for his big personality, funny quacks, and catchy songs.
- Goofy: Goofy was created by Walt Disney in 1940 and has been appearing in more than 100 movies and TV shows since then. He is known for his big smile, silly jokes, and catchy songs.
- Cinderella: Cinderella was created by Walt Disney in 1951 and has been appearing in more than 30 movies and TV shows since then. She is known for her beautiful storybook look, her magical stepsisters (the mice), her happy ending (she gets married), and her famous song “Cinderella.”
- Belle: Belle was created by Maurice Sendak in 1959 and has been appearing in more than 10 movie appearances since then. She is known for her beautiful storybook look, her sweet personality, her famous song “Belle,” as well as her role as a supporting character in The Little Mermaid movie franchise
“Picture an energetic community with the warmth and charm of a small town and the beauty of a resort,” said Disney Parks, Experiences and Products exec Helen Pak in a video showing off the project.
If you’ve ever been on a Disney vacation, you can probably picture what this community will look and feel like. Whether you’d want to live in what feels like a Disney vacation all day every day is up to personal preference, but we’re sure Disney would love everyone to envelop themselves in all things Disney 24/7.
So far, Disney has only announced one Storyliving community in Rancho Mirage in California’s Coachella Valley. It’ll feature 1,900 housing units and be named Cotino.
Disney posted a concept video for its Storyliving community, and it looks like a modern utopia for anyone who loves the company’s characters and stories.

Apparently, Disney is primarily in charge of marketing these properties, as USA Today reports that the company will not own, build, or sell the homes. Instead, it’ll turn to third parties to carry out these processes. For example, DMB Development is handling the Cotino community.
Disney didn’t announce how much it would cost to live in its community. Still, seeing as it’s located in an expensive area in California and features so much Disney-ness, we’d expect it to be costly.
